Yirgacheffe Aricha, Ethiopia 2017
This late-harvest offering is a naturally processed coffee from the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia, and has notes of melon, jasmine, and lemon for a bright and flavorful cup.
This coffee comes from the Werkinesh Wurji mill outside the town of Yirgacheffe, which services the surrounding community made up of about 2,500 small-holder growers.
The mill uses selectively-harvested ripe coffee fruit, and sun dries the coffee cherries on raised beds. After drying and hulling, the coffee goes through an additional sorting to meet the standards of Grade 1.
This microlot is unique for its late harvest, high altitude, and the care taken during post-harvest processing, and it offers a classic natural-processed Yirgacheffe character: berries, honey, sweet mandarin, lemon, and beautiful subtle floral aromas.
